Juul, an e-cigarette company founded in 2017, has made a huge impression on social media with teens and young adults. Back when they first began selling their product Juul launched an influencer program where they paid people to post about their product on Instagram and their blogs. Juul Labs spokesman Julia Davis emailed a statement to CNN saying:
“She added that the ‘paid influencer program, which was never formalized, was short-lived’ and involved ‘fewer than 10 paid influencers, who were all smokers or former smokers’ 28 and up, and who were collectively paid less than $10,000.”

From the beginning of Juul marketing, they were already making it appealing to the eyes of teens. They used influencers to catch people’s attention. Teens are always on their phones 24/7, using influencers for promotions targets teens minds to think that Juuling is “cuul.”
